I Don’t Want to be Only Surface Deep

After a little over a year and a half of blogging, I realized I haven’t shared many details on who I am as a person. Yeah, I’m sharing my personal style, blog tips, and some motivation from time to time but I haven’t gone very deep. Blogging for me isn’t only happy topics and personal style. This is entirely a personal choice for me. Sharing my life experiences is one of the main reasons I started blogging. I had and still have a desire to create and share with others, but I don’t want to be surface deep.

Surface deep, you know what I mean – the everything is awesome and isn’t life grand kind of posts. for me, I want to go a bit deeper and stick to what I said I wanted when I started blogging. I said I wanted to change blog world one transparent post at a time. It’s good to remind myself what my goals are from time to time. So, here we go! Time to get a bit personal.

Let’s begin with why I started blogging in the first place. One of the many blog motivators for me is to give back information instead of always taking information. Some people think of blogging and sharing as superficial things, well hush it. What if everyone just clammed up and quit sharing? I would have no idea how to side braid my hair. I would also have no idea how to roast carrots (yes, I needed Pinterest for that one). That’s what would happen! So thank you YouTubers for all of your “how-to” videos and pin’ers for your helpful pins. I owe you. Now on to better personal stuff.

Who am I?

I’m Regina, the face behind The Every Day Mix. I’m a lover of old times, vintage treasures, and beautiful words. I’m an individual with many sides to my personality. I’m a daughter, sister, mother, wife, co-worker, and friend. I have tons of hobbies. I love to paint but I’m not that great at painting, to be honest. I love to write and express through words. I have a deep love of poetry and I have hundreds of poems written in notebooks and on scraps of paper stuffed away in drawers. I have a deep desire to share and connect with other people but I’m also private and a bit scared to be so open. Who am I? I’m a 34-year-old collection of life. I’m a woman who has loved, lost, suffered, and yet I still smile.

There are tons of things I could tell you about me but I can’t possibly do that in one post. But I can do this, I can make it a goal to be more open. I’m making it a goal to add more of the real me to my posts, add deeper layers, and talk about the good, bad, and in-between along the way.
