I never thought I would be into makeup. I know that sounds weird but hey, it is what it is. I used to really dislike putting makeup on. I don’t like the feeling of stuff on my face. I prefer a no makeup day but let’s be real, I need some makeup on ha!
As I’ve gotten older I’ve become more interested in makeup. I’m guessing thanks to Instagram and YouTube. I actually get excited to try new products and a trip to Sephora or Ulta is such a good day. With all that said, here are my recent purchases and what I like or dislike about each one.
Too Face Dew You – I’m using the Brilliant Pearl shade and so far I’ve used this every day for about a week. This has just enough highlight to make me look healthy but not like I’m covered in shimmer, glitter, or greasy and it smells delicious. Also, my skin currently likes it and so far no breakouts.
Clinique All Aglow – I’m usually very hesitant to use anything that says glow because I have zero glow skills. This palette is super easy to use, somehow is effortless to apply, and I never mess it up. I just sweep it all over and go.
Nars Afterglow Lip Balm – This is most perfect shade of pink. I wear it every day and I love it. It doesn’t feel sticky or cakey. Think of it like wearing lipstick without feeling like you have lipstick on.
Nars Blush – Another perfect shade of pink without being cakey or glittery. I usually find this to be a bit sheer so I use it in a quick sweep across my cheek after I use the Clinique All Aglow.
NYX Pore Filler – Large pores are a daily battle for me and the struggle to make them less obvious is on my list every day. I like this product because it goes on smooth without piling off or causing my foundation (powder or liquid) to look cakey. It holds up against my oily skin as well.
e.l.f Poreless Putty Primer – I take concealing my pores super seriously and I guess you can tell since I’m listing four pore smoothing products. I like this one for the same reasons I like the NYX Pore filler. It wears well and it makes my skin feel super smooth and my pores don’t show as much.
e.l.f Poreless Primer – This product is very similar to the e.l.f Poreless Putty Primer except is has a sort of minty smell. I feel like it works exactly like the poreless putty but keeps oil under control just a tab bit better.
Clinique Beyond Perfecting – I think this may be my new favorite foundation. It covers perfectly and it doesn’t cake or make my skin feel heavy. It goes on smooth, lasts all day, and covers just enough to fade out post acne marks.
